2009 58K mile Octavia 2 VRS cambelt and service is now due!

Featured Replies

So, the car is booked in with my local Skoda dealer for this Tuesday. It's now done 58k miles, having Interim service and cambelt change. I've also gone for the option of having the water pump changed - having been advised by the service agent. Not sure if that's a bit of an old con really but at least they only charge for the unit and not the labour!

As far as I'm aware the car is sweet as a nut so it'll be interesting to see if any other faults are found requiring, er.. extra work?

I'm hoping that the already quoted price of £568 for the service, cambelt and waterpump replacement will stay at just that and no more!

I shall keep all posted on that :)

I had my water pump replaced when my cambelt was replaced, the pump had slight coolant staining but spun ok,its good practice to replace the pump along with the belt & idler wheels & tensioner.I had my aux drivebelt replaced at the same time too.

They don't charge for the labour for the pump as you have to take the cambelt off to get to it so its covered by that. Always do the pump with the belt for that reason.
