MK1 1.8T Air Filter housing question

Featured Replies

recently bought a mk1 Octavia 1.8t

trying to find a standard airbox for it as it has a K&N induction kit which I dint like.

Im not sure of the assembly of it or anything. But need it all from the maf onwards

Im having trouble finding one, so was wondering if any other models would fit?

Pretty much all the transverse engined mkiv derived VAG 1.8T's will fit, Mkiv Golf, Seat Cupra, Audi A3, etc

is the pipework all the same though? as theres nothing there I can only see where the air filter box sits. but not where it intakes from or anything

Pretty sure they're all the same. There's a snorkel that sits behind the n/s headlight that could be different on some models. Sure someone will be along soon to clarify.

k thanks mate anyone know where I could source one?

Have a look in the sale section theres usually a mk1 being broken up for spares.

The ones from the agu engine code (150bhp) have an extra oval shaped hole on the back of the airbox that takes the heatsink from the ignition output stage driver/inverter so try to avoid those, the ignition output module is not needed on the later or higher bhp models because the amplifier is built into the individual ignition coils so if you got one with it on there you could just let it sit there and plu nothing into it.

I have a spare one if interested
