Octavia vRS 1.8 2005 '55' 65k

Featured Replies

Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8T 2005 / 55 finished in silver metallic.

First registered on 27/10/2005 at West End Garage Skoda, Edinburgh, and having had family owners from new, the car has completed only 65k with a full service history.

Service history details are as follows;

09/07/07 Chatham East, Edinburgh @ 8,847

12/08/10 Newmarket Skoda @ 24,400

29/03/12 Alloa Auto Care Specialist @ 41,758

28/02/13 Newmarket Skoda @ 60,846

(Please note that the car is on the Variable Service Program).

The last service included timing belt replacement, water pump (steel impeller, not the plastic type that breaks and potentially ruins the engine!), and coil pack replacement under Skoda warranty / recall.

I have the last 2 MOT's, and a VOSA printout listing the other MOTs.

In addition the car comes with both keys, (both of which work, and operate the remote central locking) and the full owners book pack.

Standard equipment includes

ABS

Airbags - driver and passenger

17" alloy wheels ( fitted with all-weather performance tyres)

CD multi-changer

Climate control

Electric front and rear windows

Heated door mirrors

Half-leather trim

PAS

Rear parking sensors

Remote central locking

The paintwork is excellent for a car of this age, the only marks of note being a scratch on the drivers side 'A' pillar, a few very minor stone chips on the bonnet, and a very small patch of stone chipping on the osr wheel arch area (behind the trailing edge of the rear door, on the return onto the rear wheel arch panel); there are no dents at all to the panels.

As stated, these are commensurate with a car of its age, after all, if the car was totally devoid of marks it would be fair to suggest that it had been painted, which this car hasn't.

(Please see images for the above mentioned items).

You may be worried by the above description; don't be!

I have deliberately described any defects in detail to ensure that the advert is accurate; I'm sure we have all enquired about cars described as 'mint' etc, only to find that upon examination they are far from! Nothing grates with me more than travelling 100miles to view such a car, only to be bitterly disappointed. Thats why I have been open and honest about the minor defects on the car; I'm sure most people aren't, and I always believe in treating people how I would like to be treated.

The alloy wheels are all in excellent condition, with no kerbing, other than marks on 3 spokes of the n/s/f wheel (again, please see images). They come with locking wheel nuts (the locking wheel nut key is present).

Inside, the trim is absolutely excellent, no rips or tears, and the 1/2 leather is unworn.

The Climate Control system will purged, and re-filled with new gas by my local specialist prior to sale, so that the system will be functioning as it would when new.

The front brake discs and pads have been replaced with OEM parts on Saturday 10/08/13, not cheap aftermarket rubbish.

PLEASE NOTE; this car is totally standard in every way, no aftermarket go-faster bits, bass-thumping ASBO stereo, MaxPower wheels, speed hump-grazing lowered suspension etc, unlike many Octavia's.

Please bear in mind that most of this advert is MY 'opinion' (what else could it be?) and one thing is certain.... we are all very different people with very different opinions!

I have tried very hard to provide you with as much detail as possible, and every attempt has been made to ensure that this advert lists the correct specification, and that no important pieces of information have been left out. Having said that, unintentional mistakes can be made. That isn't to suggest that the advert is incorrect, in fact I have gone over it a number of times and corrected a couple of minor mistakes I made, so as far as I can see, the advert is totally accurate.

I have such confidence in my Octavia that I will put 12 months mot on the car (the current MOT expires on 06/11/13) when a sale is agreed.

With regards to test drives, my wife or myself will happily demonstrate the car to anyone who is interested, but, unless you bring an insurance cover note that covers this vehicle for 'Fully Comprehensive', please don't expect to drive it - that isn't because there is anything to hide, it just saves arguing and heartache if it 'all goes Pete Tong"!!!

For those who don't know, a Fully Comprehensive policy for your car only covers you for Third Party on another vehicle.

Reason for sale?

Frankly, Im embarrassed....

Well, my wife let me 'be in charge' for once, and I thought that as she had expressed that she was considering replacing her '06' low miles Fabia vRS with a cheaper car, this would be ideal.

How wrong was I !

It turns out she was hinting that a older-shape BMW 320d SE was her preferred weapon of choice (I should have known, as she has owned 4 of them....!)

I, and the car (naturally !), are situated about 4 miles from J29 of the M1, between Clay Cross / Alfreton in Derbyshire.

I am looking for offers around £3200 for the car.

Not cheap, but I believe that this isn't out of the way for a car that in reality wants for nothing, and has no need for expenditure in the near future.

I am prepared to pick up the buyer from Chesterfield train station, so if this is your preferred method of transport, please let me know.

Very good price!

Strikingly similar to my old one

I bought it for £3750 on 65k miles on a 55 plate and traded it in with 75k miles for 4 grand :o

So i made £250 over 10k miles.... Work that one out

*bump*

I'm in hospital again guys, so my lovely wife can answer any questions about the car until I'm out (I'm having another op on Monday morning(

Other than price, which is negotiable, us there anything that is putting people off?

Perhaps its my refreshing honesty about the tiny marks in the paintwork??
