Hey guys!!

My strut bar is finally here! Can you believe it took over a month sinmce I ordered for it to get here?? It was made to order apparently! I'm gonna go to Performance tomorrow afternoon and get it fixed on, can't bloody wait!

Also, my car isn't with me today :( ...because it's in 'Sound on Wheels' getting an Eminence 12" 2800W PMPO (300W RMS) pro audio subwoofer fitted into it! Neons for the rear too! Earthquake power amp driving only about 100W RMS. See the thing is, the subwoofer I actually wanted was not available, so I got this one. It's 12", 2800W PMPO (which is a massive amount for a subwoofer in car audio, when I told the manager there his jaw fell to the ground :D So now I have a loudspeaker that I won't be driving at max power (because I can't  ), but that's a good thing too ;) I've also asked them to design the sub box as such that it will be easily removable if I need to use the boot to carry stuff. Blue Absolute neons will be sitting just behind the rear light clusters in the boot, and will go on only when I open the boot with my main light switch turned on. So the lights won't be seen...only the glow....YYYEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!

I can't wait to pick her up tonight!

I will I will!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

i'd be looking at getting a new amp mate, if you turn it up a lot it will blow the sub. you need a bigger amp for that speaker

It's in! Wow....unbelievable...absolutely unbelievable. The neons have 'pulse' mode on them. The sub sounds FABulous!! I got my sub I got my sub!! Nice box too! A lot of low end, sounds beautiful. Not only that, even on max before distortion none of the body panels resonate! It's absolutely clear sound! I'll get pics up tomorrow or something! :D

Bengie, I was well aware of that before installing, but I always have a way around these things. I set the gain myself while the head unit was on max before the speakers start distorting, so now I can drive it on max power from the amp and never have it overdrive. Max setting is set on the amp just before clipping begins too so it's set perfectly well. Xover is set at 120Hz so that kick is always in.

I know I'll never get to use the maximum power of the sub itself, I'm using only 150W when it can handle 300W, but for now, I'm telling you it sounds absolutely fantastic. I was not looking for something that would turn heads as I drive by, I wanted it for my own listening pleasure. Still...it'll turn heads, is more powerful than I wanted it to be but it sounds good so.

Like I said before, I initially wanted a 150W sub, but the one I was looking for was out of stock, so I ended up getting a 300W. A 300W amp would have been ridiculously expensive too, so I backed out on that, and just tweaked the settings myself so nothing would clip no matter how hard it's driven.

Okay guys...just got back from Performance.

That wichers strut has been fitted...bright red...and it's the fattest strut brace I've seen fitted on any Fabia...it's much thicker than the Ibiza one...it's so pretty.

Haven't had time to test the handling, I need to get supports fitted into my boot for the sub so that it doesn't move if I make a sharp turn...
