Intermittent DRL fault, Passenger side.

Featured Replies

So, its happened a few time now...

I have jumped in the car (61 plate octavia estate) turned it on and up pops 'Warning! check passenger DRL light' or words to that effect, and the warning light on dash of a bulb with a ! in the middle.

I jump out and sure enough the passenger Daytime Running Light bulb is off but the drivers side is on.

First time it happened i just contnued as normal but turned side lights on to turn the DRLs off.  when i got in the car after work the fault had gone and the bulb was on!

since then, 3 weeks ago, the fault has happened 2/3 times, but i simply turn the ignition off and back on and the fault is gone!

Any ideas? should i take it in to dealers?

Thanks

p.s

These are the normal bulbs, not LED and are the original ones from new.

Sounds like a faulty bulb or a dodgy connector, time to get it back to the dealers.

I'd try changing the bulb first as that is probably a consumable item and so they will charge you to change it. You have then ruled it out and then it must be a connector, cable or module fault.

Bulb changed. Fault still present. Now booked in to garage. Im guessing a loose connection.
