I've got an 03 reg Octy TDi that's currently on steel wheels and I'm looking to put a set of alloys on...

Current tyres are 195/65 R15 and the dealer has told me I can put alloys on that are 6.0J x 15", ET38 and keep the same tyres.

BUT - I'm thinking of putting 16s on instead... anyone know what size I would be looking for?? And what size tyres?

plus.... anyone wanna recommend any that look good on an octy but don't cost the earth?

personally I'd have a quick trawl through the for sale section. There is usually a few used sets of 17" Octavia vRS wheels for sale, for a std wheel they really do look quite good.

As for wheel and tyres in general if you go up in wheel size you need to bring the profile of rubber down so the wheel stays the same size.

can anyone tell me then.... would 16" BBS 2 piece alloys that have come off a MK4 Golf GTI fit my Octy?? Need a quick answer as I only have an hour to decide!!

Ozzy should have 16" Golf GTi wheels on soon Tyres on them are legal but a bit low..... but I can wait til next month's pay packet to replace them
