MK1 VRS prices...

Featured Replies

Hi people, now me and my good lady are thinking of going to one car instead of two so maybe a mk2 vrs estate, 10k budget so should do well! so I start taking a look at prices to get a value ebay, trader, piston heads etc.

Anyhow the prices seem literally all over the place son some help if you would (note this is not a sale thread, we have not even agreed the idea yet and it will be a few months yet)

My octy is a 55 plate ,black with 62k on it, it will have 12month mot and couple months tax, it's a very, very clean example, wheels no kerbing no dints or scratches in paint, interior one of cleanest I saw when I bought,

Since owning I have had a big service, plugs etc and new discs and pads front and back, with new genuine vrs rear calipers both rears, a revo stage 1 and superpro bushes at front all around 4k ago.

It's had 8 services on time and cambelt a 40k, it's got continental sport 5 all round, fronts half worn and rears hardly worn.

Question is what would you guys price it at? Trading it in I don't fancy as its ready to go for someone who knows what their looking at, it's not a chuck it to auction problem car.

I see you can get a book value but with all the work/upgrades I struggle to find a comparible example looking at trader, ebay etc.

Many thanks and I look forward to comments good or bad and excuse my big post lol

I wouldn't get rid of it mate :-) there are a lot of people who sell them and end up buying another one down the line. My friends dad been a perfect example hes had 4 mk1 vrs's and 2 mk2's he says the mk2 doesn't really compare. Hes just bought his latest mk1 a month ago, its very similar to yours with 60k on the clock on a 55 plate and revo stage 1 map. He paid £2500 for it. It sounds a fantastic example mate but there are loads out there for sale now starting from £1500.

Hope this helps :-)

I was offered 2k trade in against an alfa 159 2.2 jts my car is standard 75k fsh 04 plate excellent condition as my hobby is cleaning it. I have decided to keep it for another year as most of the cars I have looked at were junk 57/58 plates saab aeros alfas and megane 225; I can't believe the cheek of some dealers or maybe its just me.

I am selling my 52 plate at the moment and looking for £2300 which is not bad compared to most for sale in the classifieds.trade in I have been offered £550 !!! complete joke.
