Launch Control, on what models?

Featured Replies

I read in the User manual that Launch Control is available in some countries.

In what countries and on what versions of the Octavia is Launch Control available? Is it on all DSG versions?

I read somewhere that launch control is only available on 6speed-DSG (Wet clutches)  7speed-DSG (dry clutches) couldn't stand the slipping so it isn't available on them...

I think it's on my 7 speed wet clutch!

i have launch control.

What's the process to initiate launch control? I've got a Passat but following the instructions in the manual results in the car trying to pull forward while the brakes are on....

ESP off

Stop/start off

Left foot on brake.

Accelerate with right foot. (Should hold at 2500rpm ish)

Release brake

In what way does launch control 'control' the err, 'launch'?

It's just a rev limiter, so the turbo is spooled up when you go.

Thanks,

Tried this apart from turning the stop/start off and it strains on the brake. Will give it a go tomorrow, I'll probably never use it after trying it out though :)

cant remember if you have to put it in sport mode too?  its in the manual though

DSG also needs to be in Sports mode.  At least it does on the MKII FL.

Theoretically it modulates the throttle as you launch so you get only minimal tire slip and perfect traction. So you don't have to do it yourself by adjusting the pedal input, just floor it.
