Can you program bluetooth module to display song names?

Featured Replies

I have recently installed the 3c8 bluetooth module and all working at last.

However, some have said the phone is the reason you get the sound track name.

I have an iPhone 5 and can't get any music info.

Can you use vcds to do anything about this?

Anyone have an iPhone 5 with bluetooth displaying song name etc please

I have the 5K0 035 730 D and it also does not show the track information when playing.

Having fitted mine and coded it what I thought was correctly, it works in all other ways, phone, phone book, stereo audio streaming, play/pause/skip, full maxidot integration, all working.

My Columbus HU just says "bluetooth-audio" where the track info would be.

Phone is Nexus 4.

Same as mine.

Same as mine.

I had a play in the car and found that it will display track info, but only when using the default Google Music player (not something I usually use). It doesn't display when using things like Audible or Spotify.

It's not a function I use that often as have most of my music on an ipod via MDI.

Is this how it should work?:

That's it :(, what phone u using.

It gets the info from the phone, so it's down to the iPhone.

That's not me, it's a video I found demoing the features on a VW equivalent. Seems that the iphone here is sending all requisite data to the module which in turn is relaying it to the stereo screen. This guy is using an iphone no problem.

Is video online?

Yes, see above! Post #6.

I have an iphone 5 and it does work most of the time. What I find is I have to give the radio a few minutes to fully switch on in the morning and then launch the music direct from the iPhone. Then switch to BT on the head unit and it should work fine most of the time. It all seems to come down to the order in which you do it.
