Back in a Skoda again ( Citigo Sport )

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Picking up a brand new Citigo Sport 3 door in white next Monday    It's been on order for 6 weeks and although that time has flown by I cant wait to pick up my new baby.

My last Skoda was a Fabia 2 which I had brand new in 2007 but since then I've had a Peugeot 207 which unfortunately got vandalised and then I inherited my Dads Astra 1.6 which has been a nice car but is starting to get expensive to run.

The 0% finance and free servicing deal on the Citigo was all I needed to persuade me to upgrade to a new shiny Skoda again.

In the past I'v owned a couple of rear engine'd Rapid's, 3 Favorits including a Blackline which was my err favourite   a Felicia 1.9D, 2 Fabia 1's and a Fabia 2 and all were cracking cars.

Anyway that's enough about me but I'm just very happy to soon be driving a Skoda again.

Just curious as you were a Felicia owner and then had a Fabia mk 1. Did you feel the Fabian was much of an improvement over the Felicia?

Thanks for the warm welcome Guys its great to be amongst people with great taste in cars once again.

To answer the question of the Felicia v the Fabia 1 that was a while ago now but from memory the Fabia was a big improvement being the 1.4 16v with 100 bhp compared to a 1.9 64 bhp very old school diesel !

I lent it to a very sceptical workmate who returned extremely impressed and never took the rise out of my car ever again.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I asked because when the Fabia came out I went and looked to buy one (I was driving a pre-facelift) 1.3 GLi Felicia at the time.  I was so underwhelmed by the Fabia, which was very dark inside and despite being bigger give the impression of being smaller, that I bought a pre-reg Felicia estate instead.  The Fabia I loked at had a 1.4MPI engine which was very similar to the 1.3MPI engine in my Felicia.

My Dad had an early Fabia 1 classic with the 1.4 8v engine and yes it was a bit dark inside and not particularly great to drive with the old tech engine but it served him well and is still on the road being driven every day by our neighbours daughter.

Mine was the 1.4 16v Comfort with a much nicer interior and a more modern and refined ( at the time ) VW engine.

I would go as far to say it was one of the best cars I ever owned & I replaced it with another Fabia mk1 1.2 12v Comfort which was another great little car & to be honest I still prefer that shape to the Fabia mk2 which I later went on to buy.
