The worst knocking

Featured Replies

Good afternoon! It's Friday! Wishing you all a good weekend.

Got the worst knocking from the ARB (I've been told) on the NSF and am planning on replacing it.

I just wanted to know if its best to stick OEM parts on or if there is something from another car that people have found best?

The car is lowered on coilovers if that makes any difference.

Many thanks

Have you fitted shorter droplinks to compensate for the drop in ride height?

Hi day, no I haven't :/

Get your car on a ramp if possible. not a lift. And check the driveshafts, see if the droplink has been catching it at all. Might be worth having a poke about to see if anything else could be causing the knock. If not, it might just be the droplink which DeadMau5 has linked up^^^

Going to sound like a fool but is the drop link the ARB?

No, the drop link connects the end of the ARB to the lower suspension arm.

Thank you, is the drop link normally the culprit then for the knocking?

Going to get those heavy duty ones!

No there are two drop links, one either side which connects the suspension strut to the arb, which is above the drive shaft which looks like and upside down C which allows clearance for the drive shaft but like what every one else has said depends how low you are and whether or not your suspension set up requires shortened drop links

Hope this helps lol

There are lots of potential culprits for knocking on the suspension of a Fabia.

But if you have been told that is where it is from, I'd look there first.

check the front console / subframe .... i found out the bolts were all loose on mine other week which caused a front end knock
