Clutch pedal issues

Featured Replies

Well today when the wife went out on the school run the clutch pedal dropped to the floor, so she called me i had to get a taxi to where the car was, found some bits of plastic in the footwell and a piece of metal, looked under and noticed the problem, the metal brackets backing came off  on the pedal and the plastic mounting bracket had broken that goes on the end of master cylinders rod, anyways, nursed the car to my mates garage as there was a scrap bora, swapped the pedals with master cylinders over, job done, i bled the master cylinder, but the clutch bite is lower than before now, have i not bleed the master cylinder right ? can someone aid me in the proper way to do it ? I'am as my friend says, "a google mechanic"

easy and safe to bleed the clutch...just done it with my gf :)

go to the slave cyl on the gearbox and attach a hose to the bleeder and run it sunk in a bottle with some brake fluid in it.Then open the bleeder and pump the clutch pedal several times (10-12) .....close the bleeder, disconect the hose....and you are ready to go

Ah right, i've did it the way you do a brake pedal, pump it then release, so keep pumping it while the bleed nipple is open ?

yes, keep pumping while the bleeder is open, don't worry about air getting in....as the hose is sunk in the brake fluid in the bottle everything is safe.
