Front Driver side window regulator.

Featured Replies

My front driver side on my Octavia MK1 window regulator has packed up the cable started making a grinding sound first and now it's gone, anyone knows where's the best place to get one from and a location for a guide?

Thanks.

I bought my regulator off eBay at a discount price of £25 delivered. I believe you should be able to pick 1 up for around £35 there is a guide on here somewhere. Tbh I did mine in under an hour with a friends help removing the glass.i wouldn't bother with repair kits alot of hassle. New regulator is the best way, google search it for guide and it should point you in the direction of the guide on here, it was a massive help to me :)

Yes I agree, the kits look like a lot of hassle, seen some youtube vids and doesn't look easy, is the regulator riveted on or bolted?

Its bolted on. The way I did mine was remove door card and membrane, un clip everything and try to get window down by about 4 inches or so just so you can undo the clamps holding glass in, remove glass (carefully) and I think its 4 or 5 bolts holding regulator in place.undo those (cant remember size) and you should be able to gently get the old regulator (with motor still on) out the door.then undo motor (I cleaned the plastic cogs) attach to new regulator and replace in reverse order... Then working window :)

Abit brief but any futher help I will do my best :):):)

Thank you, that's a great help, I will have a go a soon as I buy the regulator.

You will see the bolts holding motor im sure its 3 but don't worry bout them till you have it out. Its abit fiddly squeezing it out the gap. But it does come out :)
