Couple of Questions

Featured Replies

How far on average will a full tank of Diesel get you in a 1.9 105? I can normally bank on around 450 miles in my current Astra and was hoping for around the same or more.

If you unlock the car with the remote but don't open any doors or the boot, will it lock itself again?

I'm sure there was something else I wated to know  It'll come to me!

Cheers

Assuming its an Octy, I get around 54mpg on my 110tdi Octy1 generally your looking at 600miles on a tank

The car will lock itself if you have used the remote but not opened any doors. (think it depends on VAG com settings though)

:)

Only got answer to the locking qestion mate sorry. YES the car will lock itself again after about 30seconds if no doors are opened. Cant answer fuel one as drive petrol, but I'm getting about380miles with 2.0ltr FSI so deisel should be far more I expect.

I have just covered 12000 miles in the last 6 months in my 1.9 tdi elegance. On average I am doing around 50-53mpg which I find gives a range of approx 500-550 miles. This is over a variety of roads although I cover 40 miles each day up and down the M6.

The motor seems to have noticiably loosened up, just in the past few hundred miles and, as such, I seem to be giving it a little more right foot now. I will keep an eye on the consumption to see what effect this extra welly is having.

I noticed my engine loosened up considerably after the first oil change (10000 miles). As for the door locking thing, I found out the other day that the boot on my Fabia locks when yo start driving, and stays locked as long as the engine's running - don't know if it's like that for your Octy, but it's a pretty good security feature IMO!

Normall can get 550, if doing a lot of motorway then closer to 600.

I get 900km out of each tank, minimum !

Which is 559.234073 miles :-)

Mixed (motorway/small road).

When constantly flooring it, this number may decrease significantly

Six decimal places - just a rough conversion then ;)

Like most people here, I get around 550 miles in my 1.9TDI. I've got an average of 53mpg in the 4500 miles i've driven so far.

I get around 550 miles to the tank in a 2.0TDi, just filled up with BP Diesel Plus or whatever it's called so far it does seem quieter will have to see how the MPG compares. But not sure it is worth the extra 6p a litre compared to the local Asda or Sainsburys.

In my old shape octy the worst I ever saw was 490 all around town.

The best was 630 and the typical is around 570.

I'd expect similar figures on a new one.

That's without cheating and filling the expansion tank by the way.

Getting about 550-600 miles to the tank...depends if youve got a heavy right foot...I mainly wack up & down the M1 & M6..but fuel consum is getting better after 1month & 4500 miles....
