I want to buy a touchscreen for my rapid - how and what?

Featured Replies

So I've been looking into the Bolero and Amundsen since they are what Skoda gives as option, which is better? do I need to do anything in my console in order to fit them? currently installed is the Swing radio.

also I am visiting Germany next week and the prices there are much cheaper than here in Israel, can anyone recommend a shop in the Bavarian region? (Munich, Stuttgart etc..)

Just get a Columbus.

It's better, plug and play just like the others.

awesome, never heared of it, seems good.

thank you!

Columbus and Amundsen will require a GPS Antenna for the Navigaton to work, but other than that just plug and play in theory

There's also a couple of Kenwood's which they do; they are aftermarket but designed to suit the VW Group of cars. The DNS-521DAB is expensive but has a lot of features, more info: http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/products/car/vw/DNX521DAB/. This one integrates with the climate control and parking sensors too if you have them ...

This looks like a very interesting option, do you have any idea about the price? if it's much cheaper than the Colombus amundsen etc I would seriously consider getting one of those (and yes I do have climate and sensors)

On eBay the cheapest I can find is £820 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-KENWOOD-DNX521DAB-SATNAV-DVD-DAB-Multimedia-System-VW-VOLKSWAGEN-SKODA-/251324992207?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a84230acf).

Not wishing to be negative: a couple of dealers have really slated those Kenwood units, saying that they have had to replace a lot of them under warranty as there is a very high failure rate.

It won't integrate with the climate I think. I have climate control and Amundsen and the climate control stuff doesn't display on the Amundsen screen.
