Which 2013 Satisfaction Survey - more

Featured Replies

Not sure that many of us put much store by these satisfaction surveys, especially when conducted by Which, but I've just noticed that there is a short summary PDF of the 2013 survey freely online, if anyone is curious. See:

http://www.staticwhich.co.uk/documents/pdf/10-13_ownersatisfaction-327044.pdf

What is noticeable is just how close the top 15 are, ranging from 92% (BMW X3 15th) to Yaris Verso (96% and top) - given 1-2% (if not more) sampling error, in reality there's little to choose between them purely in terms of the satisfaction score. Yeti was 4th incidentally on 94%.

The field does spread out more at the lower end with scores down to 51% (Megane to 2009) and interestingly 8 out of the bottom 10 are French, admittedly not all current models now.

Not bad really, for the German manufacturers, but the bottom 10, a lot of Frenchists in there.   Toyota is an ugly car, but must be reliable.

there was a reliability survey done a good few years back with data provided by the RAC or AA, on number of breakdowns  per 1000 vehicles which was quite interesting, I would like to see that appear again and see where the different cars and manufacturers and engines fit in compared to the owner survey

I think it got stopped as a few manufacturers complained about it

The truth hurts, perhaps could ask AA RAC under freedom of information.

Don't trust which reports bought a hoover they recommended once and it was rubbish, had Dysons ever since.

I always quite liked the little Yaris Verso as a reliable and very practical package but I believe it went out of production more than 5 years ago and they were quite rare on the roads as well. (Probably because it was sooo ugly) I'm sure owners are very happy but I can't see the relevance of this model in such a survey if it's not been available for so long. Anyway Skoda does very well again.

AA are not liable to a FoI request as they are a private company, so don't bother.
