Skoda Octavia II maintenance

Featured Replies

Dear all,

it seems it's a nightmare but I cannot find the maintenance program for my Octavia II. No info in the Instruction manual, no info anywhere. Can you help me?

Thank you and best regards

Have you checked the starting pages in the service book?

It could be fixed or variable.......Im sure i read in other forums there is a way of checking... Mine is variable but will be changed to fixed as I would like to stick to the standard way of servicing a petrol.....every 10000 miles...

If you have Maxidot, it's in there. At least it is on mine.

I checked: I'm at 48'000 km today and the onboard computer tells me still 2'000 km before maintenance. But no info on which maintenance (is it foreseen chain replacement or not?)

best regards

Didn't think the chain needed to be replaced if i am honest....but then maybe i am wrong...

The maintenance checks are listed in the service manual, at least they were in my 06 vrs as I used the to set out the work I wanted doing to an independant garage.

I got a separate service list from the dealer, they just printed it our for me. I'd just call one and ask for it.

Dont have that list in my service book.....I do my checks once a months...

No, the timing chain doesn't have a service interval. That's the whole point of chains :)

Someone should have told Bmw, Lots of timing chains snapping on their engines and the customer has to fit the bill saw it on watchdog. Customers argue that if its a serviceable item it shouldn't be at the back of the engine and need to drop the engine to replace it. I think in special circumstances BMW paid some towards the repair but not without a fight. I would say a chain should last the life of the engine if its inacessible for inspection but who determins the life of the engine? ifs its outside the warrenty some would argue its past its shelf life.

look under the carpet in the boot for a sticker with lots of codes on    somewhere in the list it will show "QG"   "QG-0& QG2" are fixed service         "QG1"   is variable or at least every 2 years
