Jump Lead Storage

Featured Replies

A couple of nights ago I accidentally left the keys in the ignition.  Though the lights weren't on, it somehow drained the battery overnight, and we had to switch to Octy #2 for our journey.

This morning, jump started Octy #1 from Octy #2, and all's well.  However one lesson learned is that the jump leads should not be stored in the back of the car, as the rear hatch opening, and central locking depend on battery power - only the driver's door has a manual lock, unlike Octy Mk 1.

The jump leads for both cars are now stashed under the driver's seat...

There is a handle inside the boot that opens the boot isnt there? ive seen the handle but never pulled it on mine.

That handle is for hide and seek isn't it.......you pull the handle to shut the boot and no one can find you!!!  :giggle:

I normally hide mine in the boot but if i go on a long journey I make sure all the emergency equipment is with me in the front.....except the triangle and spare wheel kit....

Storage box under passenger seat :-)

Unlatch back seat and you can still gain access.

Yup, what he said. Joys of an estate... you can leave the boot shut, go through the back seats. and still root around in it to your heart's content without banging your head. :)

Be careful how you stow the cables. Have not checked on the Octavia, but a lot of cars have the wiring for the seatbelt tensioner under the seat. If this connector is damaged it can cause an airbag error.
