Getting my two front tyres changed tomorrow and have been frantically trying to look for my locking wheel but only to realise that my car doesn't have any.

Are they not standard nowadays?

Does that mean no wheel locks on you can't find the key?

I can't find the key. Bugger!

Oh well, they may have to use an angle grinder to cut the wheels off and you will be needing new wheels as well as tyres if you are unlucky.  One of several reasons I don't like alloys.

Most tyre fitters are perfectly capable of removing locking wheel nuts without resorting to an angle grinder, and without damaging the wheel!

In case you've not looked, it's usually in the tray in the spare wheel well.

Found it floating around in the spare wheel. I obviously had a man look only earlier!!!

The key on our Focus locking nuts broke due to rust/old age at the last tyre change. The proprietor is a friend, his fitter was ordering a new set of bolts for me when Rob the owner pointed out that all Ford Focuses have alloys as do nearly all new cars, thus wheel thefts are a thing of the past.

We haven't yet replaced them - must check with number one son who is a local plod sergeant what are the risks.
