Mk1 PD130 Exhaust system

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Had a bit of a look into this but due to my complete lack of knowledge of diesels I still have no idea :)

Ive been told my system will be good for 200bhp, cool. It still sounds like a diesel :(

What do I do? Can I just stick a VRS back box on it to make it sound better? Will that lower performance?

Exhausts are exhausts! All im looking for is a better note without loosing performance. I would assume a VRS back bok would not effect performance, BUT, would it make it sound better???

I want a bit of a roar, but NOT too much.

Any ideas?

I went for the Miltek turbo back system from a bora (kept it hidden under the back bumper), on tickover & normal driving I couldn't tell a difference but on full throttle it used to growl and sound nice.

Was still a diesel though but also got about 11bhp & 20ftlb increase in power (from memory, was along time ago)

Read into the mufflerectomy. Some people say its golden others say its ****e. No idea myself but Thor racing did a dyno with the TDI 150 leon FR and got good improvements. The video is on youtube if you care to watch it.
