I've got a new mirror glass to install as my old glass delaminated from the mounting plastic.

 

The glass came with two metal clips, which the supplier said may or may not be needed.  The plastic back looks similar to another on a previous car that just popped off and popped on.

 

When I tried to pop the old one off I can't, but there does appear to be metal clips behind, so how do I release the glass and attach the new?

tilt the mirror all the way down and then get something in to lever and it pops off. my 05 elegance has two metal clips. should literally be that easy
