Hey guys, the door hinges on my car are full of grease and look awful. Bugs me every time I open the door. I'm sure the grease is there to keep the hinge lubricated so could anyone advise how to clean this up but still keep the hinges greased?

Clean it off with an APC (all-purpose cleaner) or a degreasing agent.

 

Then coat them carefully and properly - there's no need for the entire mechanism to be covered, as I'm guessing yours is!

 

You can also use a spray grease (available from Halfords, motor factors etc) to do the same job, very directly onto the working area of the hinge, without it looking messy.

I use PTFE its a lubricant which is clear unlike grease which i yellowish. spray on open and close a few times spray repeat until its silky smooth wipe off the excess and do it about once a year.

"Very carefully"! Seriously, if you wipe the hinges carefully enough, you should get the grease off the outsides without taking it away fron the bearing faces and hinge pins.

Probably a grease nipple. Not seen the yeti so not sure.
