Tpf on my roomster.1.6 dti

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. Signed up before but got confused with passwords etc. Never been on this sort of thing before.

My roomster (which I love ) needed a new sensor on the dreaded tpf. Only the bolt was stuck so the had to put on a new tpf £1500 plus labour. Under guarantee so wasn t bothered. After much of an argument even gave me the manufacturers warrantee for a further 2 years.

If it had broke out of wedlock I would not have been happy. But now I am. Did you know on that engine it won't set off the tpf unless you have more that 11 litres of fuel in the car and it burnt at 700 c degree. What a ridiculous piece of kit. Know its not just VAG all diesel car have to have them and Ford and Vauxhall dpt s are just unsafe, if what I've been told is true.

I told the skoda people I plan to have the thing talen off after two years. They were shocked. Said it would break the warranty. But I said it wouldn't matter cos the thing would be in a skip by then.

Any thoughts or comments of the "wisdom" of my plan. I know you don't need one under mot regulations and its just a problem waiting to happen. Oh the fuel consumption is much better so the old one 3. Years old. Was probably causing trouble somewhere under the bonnet.

Nice to meet you all. Cheers lost at sea ( how could you forget that name - doh!
