VRS winter pack

Featured Replies

I forgot about the free ice scraper, result! Thats as long as I can open the fuel cover with the ice that builds up around it.

Yeah, always thought after a hard frost you might need a de-icer to be able to get the scraper

2017 Update.

I spoke to the Dealer about my vRS 230 Order.

There is no "Winter Pack" for Skoda, all other VAG Brands offer it.

The Options for Octavia are Heated Seats (£250), Heated Screen (£300) and Heated Washer Jets (£50) total £600 but you can't order one without the other 2 according to the konfigurator!

For reference the Golf GTi Winter Pack is Standard except for Climate Screen (£295) and Seat Leon FR Pack is £365 but doesn't state the contents.

well, they don't call it a pack in the configurator (even though you have to choose them all) so they can use the same boxes for trim levels where perhaps 1 of the items comes as standard

However, the latest "Pricing and specification" brochure i downloaded recently, has a "winter pack" in the options,

It's £600 for the normal vRS (230), and 350 for the 245 (which has the heated front seats already)

I have the winter pack ordered on my 245 VRS. After such a long wait for it, if it turns up without the heated screen, I won't be happy!

I have a 2015 UK vRS230 with winter pack which includes heated screen.... so have they changed this on the facelift version?

(it's a very handy feature.... almost worth the halo effect you get around any lights at night when looking through the windscreen.... Almost)

Was told we’d have to cancel the order and start again, losing my build slot and risking Marching 1st delivery so will have to do without for 2 winters!

I presume you ordered the VRS thinking that it had a standard VAG winter pack and didn't consider the options? That will be why it's cheaper to buy a Skoda than a Golf. If I was you, I would order the optional heated windscreen, seats, and washer nozzles. Sitting in my car yesterday am letting the screens deice themselves was  well worth it. Not sure about the halo comment earlier in this topic as the front screen visibility is fine. If it wasn't they wouldn't make them.

I meant to add it to the online configuration but could t see it, got distracted then got quotes for that config. Only a week later did J realise my omission.

Anyway, no great loss for the handful of bad mornings I’ll use it, not worth losing a March 1 delivery over

I don't blame you, I cancelled my 1st order in 2014 as the configurator said heated screen was available for the TSI. I git a call a week later to say the car would not be built with the screen, he salesman was pretty surprised when I cancelled the irder but I had a decent MkII at the time so it didn't affect me. As soon as I found out that the screen was a TSI option, I ordered it. I use it probably 20-30 times per winter I suppose, so not a lot, just nice not to have to de-ice and it keeps it mist free in the first 3-5 minutes, spent driving through the estate and onto the A roads. No wiping the inside of the screen. Enjoy your new car.

No problems with visibility at all from a safety perspective, it's just that all lights have a halo type effect around them caused by the fine mesh of the heating matrix in the glass, which makes the world look less pleasant at night in my opinion, particularly when it's a crisp and clear night. I'm sure it wouldn't bother everyone though.

Its not on the configurator as a one button pack option. You have to select all three items separately. Screen, seats and washers gives the full winter pack.
