Eletrical memory seats cant store lowest position

Featured Replies

As I'm 6',2" and with most of the length in my back, I need the seat as close to the floor as possible.

I've hit "Set" and "1" to store the positions, and mirror-positions and backrest etc. is perfectly in place every time I enter the car.
BUT the seat cushion is an inch or two from lowest position every time!

Is it some sort of "comfort entering", or is it just a bug?
I'm slightly annoyed, as this was not a problem in my 10 year old BMW 5-series ..

Anyone? :)

I have the same problem. When restoring my stored setting in lowest possition. It raises the seat about half an inch.

I'm not implying anything here, but if you set the adjust and store the lowest position whilst not sat in the seat, doesn't behave the same?

Haven't tried that, but I'll try :-)

Apart from that, how good do owners find the electrically adjustable seats generally?

I like the idea of memory.  When I've got my seat comfortable I hate it when the position gets changed - it seems to take ages to find that ideal driving position again.

However, for some mad Skoda reason, it does not seem to be available on the 4x4 version.  The sales brochure lists "Electrically adjustable front seats includes auto dimming driver's door mirror with memory function" [their italics].

This is not very clear - I presume they mean a memory function for the seat position, not the mirror? - and it is a very expensive (£700!) option.

And the option is only available on the Elegance version, whereas the 4x4 is only offered in the SE version.  Why is it assumed that anyone who wants four-wheel-drive will never want an electrically adjustable seat?

There should be a small dead area at both ends of the range. This is to stop the seat being continuously driven against the stops. Try setting the memory to the highest position. Is there a similar dead area? If not, it may be possible to adjust the seat position switches/sensors to give a smaller dead area for the lower position.

I have a 4x4 elegance with electrical drivers seat. And they do mean memory funtion on the mirror.

So: both the seat and the mirror have "memory" settings?  Sounds good!  Thank you.

Just a pity that Skoda, for some weird reason, seem believe that drivers who want four wheel drive canot possibly ever want an electically adjustable seat with memory.

As I said, I have both 4x4 and electrical seat, so it's not a Skoda decision, but possibly a Skoda UK decision. No problem getting it i Sweden.

Can't get it on the vrs either which although I understand to an extent as different seats is still highly irritating when you've one car between two people.

Completely mad policy by Skoda UK.  Wonder what wiring is needed and if it could be retro-fitted?

mirakulix, I have the same problem with my car! Did you find a solution/fix?? (O3 4x4 tsi)

According to my dealer it's a feature to reduce risk of back seat passenger getting his/her feet crushed. Really, really stupid if you ask me.

Does your dealer have any documentation on this? Or is it just something they came up with to avoid the question? Sounded to stupid!

I'd love to retrofit memory seats to my vRS to avoid the problems of wife and self struggling to find our very different settings. Anyone cracked this yet, or even know if it's a goer?

comfortable leaving the vehicle - after switching off the ignition and open the driver's door, the seat moves back and the backrest forward hatch
