Featured Replies

Hi all need a bit of help with my octavia vrs oil pressure warning light came on whilst at high speed stopped the car checked the oil was full started the car was fine 50 miles later it did it again so I changed the oil and filter used flush it has been fine for way over 1000 miles but tonight it did it again whilst in traffic had a good look this time found badly split breather pipe (lower end) and theres quit a bit of sludge in it but don't think this would course low oil pressure warning I thought maybe oil pressure senser or blocked pick up pipe but unsure as it does it totally random no loss of power or boost and uses no oil has anybody had this problem before I no it's a big ask please help

Most likely pickup pipe blocked!

Get it changed asap before it destroys something.

Ok as thought thanks is it easy change ?

I think it can be a hard to get at a few of the sum retaining bolts, but nothing too demanding.

When refitting, don't use too much sealant, as it can come off (internally) and then block up your new oil pickup.

I cleaned the top end out today was quite clean expected it to be all sludged up goin on the state of the split oil breather pipe I've heard the the turbo oil pick up pipe can get blocked too I'm gonna wip the sump off tomoz see what's goin on in there . Is the pick up pipe and strainer easy to remove ?

Yep very. No point opening up to take a look though, just buy a new one and fit it only costs something like £15.

I wouldn't drive the car till you've changed it.
