Mk1 octavia vrs estate boost surge

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just recently bought a mk1 octavia vrs estate. I have this boost surge which hesitates for a second and carry on boosting and so on. All my breather hoses were split so replaced them. I have disconnected my maf which didn't resolve the issue. Any other bits I need to look at?

You really need to get a diagnostic done with VCDS to see if there are any codes stored in the ECU.

Failed seal in the DV or a dodgy N75 are possible suspects, leaking boost pipework too.

TV here were no codes stored on the generic machine bit will try finding someone with vcds. The dv is new it's one of the eBay ones.

Was it doing it prior to fitting the DV? If it wasn't I'd suspect your DV seal is goosed.

OEM 710N DV (£25 new) & is absolutely fine unless you are running big boost.

Yes it was doing it prior to fitting the dv valve

Unlikely it's the DV causing the problem then. You can check the DV by pushing the piston up & holding your finger over the small pipe on the top, release the piston & it should stay up till you let your finger off.

N75 failure is pretty rare, but not unheard of. A scan & a look at the engine measuring blocks with VCDS should help to isolate the problem. Put a request for help in the VCDS/Vagcom section of the forum, & I'm sure someone will be willing to help you out & for an offer of beer tokens.

Changed the n75 for a new one from tps and touch wood, the surging has completely stopped. Will update thread after a few days with the progress.

Glad you sorted it.
