Featured Replies

looked at a 1.6 tdi cr se superb estate 7000 miles one owner

ive got the octavia estate 1.6 tdi

just like to now wots the 1.6 like in the superb having the bigger body

and wots its like on diesel mpg thanks pete

It'll be a fraction slower that the Octavia (due to the extra size and weight) and marginally down on MPG as a result (unless it is a Greenline).

I have a 1.6 TDI hatch. Power is sufficient, won't win any races but it gets you from a-b

Excuse me for asking, but are you disappointed with your Superb? ( I noticed your other post about the Octy).

I have ordered a Greenline. I don't expect it to be swift, but is there anything else I should be awar of?

Thanks.

well if your still waiting on order you will be getting the FL, I love the superb the room in it is excellent, I was just saying that the new octy is a much better LOOKING car, the superb is superb the space equipment and reliability does it for me, the power is not Ferrari territory but it moves the car to where you want to go while giving decent MPG figures, but it's not the best at over taking, have to drop down a gear and boot it to get round a lorry for example, cause I came from a MK1 Octavia 1.9 TDI PD 57 plate and the 1.9 had allot of grunt, foot down to the floor and it was really shifting, but now I'm in the superb which is heavier and has a smaller engine

Thanks for that. Funny how we all see things differently. We looked at both the new Octy and the Superb after discounting the Golf and A3. No matter how many times we looked at it, we continually felt the Superb was a much more handsome and imposing car than the new Octy.

I was happy for my wife to make the final choice. She chose the twin door Superb in white. (it just happened to be my favourite too!)

Vive la difference, as they say!

Had my Greenline III just over a month and not disappointed, I came from a Octavia VRS Diesel Estate. Yes it's not as quick , but on my daily grind of A31, A3 and into South London I don't miss the power keeps up with the traffic with no issues. According to the in car read out I am getting 63mpg, I know that's probably optomistic, but better than the Octavia. It's not as quick pulling into the traffic, a bit more planning required, but That's not the point as a comfortable cruiser, don't miss the hard ride of the octavia ( good car don't get me wrong) I cannot fault it. Lots of extra little details that make the car, kick plates on all of the doors, light in the central storage box, etc, and the solid build feeling. Went for SE trim partly on cost, but also not a fan of full leather trim prefer alcantara. The real bonus is the interior space, the boot is not much bigger than the octavia, but inside it's a winnner, with two less than mobile parents it's so much easier to get them in and out. Granted it hasn't got all of the up to date tech of the octavia III it's more like a grown up Octavia II, but it has everything I need. Only moan so far is the radio reception, drops out and I need it looked at, and the interior of the windscreen, please Westover buy your valeter a claen cloth!!!

Your post is really interesting to me as I am going from Octy VRS to the Superb Greenline 3 too, also in SE trim. Everything you have written ties in with what I considered. The only difference is that I have ordered DAB! Thanks. Feeling much reassured about my car choice.
