skoda roomster left side rear light unit what is the lower bulb for please

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hello need a bit of help please,

my wife has a 57 plate skoda roomster and behind today checking lights for MOT,

the lower right side fog light comes on that,s fine but there is a lower bulb in the left rear sde that is a good bulb

but does not come on at all .

Can anybody tell me if this is just a dummy side as I can not see why it,s there

thanks a lot and all the best.

Rob

The uk legal requirement (RVLR) is only one rear fog is needed, either centred or drivers side. Often manufacturers allow for either side (changing with hand of drive) but dont make them functional where not needed, some kind of cost saving I guess.

My A4 was the same and I just ran a wire from one to the other to get them both working, I hate asymmetrical lights :@ lol

hi,

yes spent a hour changing bulbs checking everything,

but this lower bulb passenger side must be a dummy thing as all other lights this side works but lower right side is a fog so when I looked inside the left side there was a bulb so I thought blown and fogs both sides but NO the bulb on the lower left side works else where.

so skoda must have just matched both sides but the left side is a dummy very confusing if this is correct.

Probably get more help if this was in the Roomster section not the technology one

It is correct. Same on my Fabia. As mentioned only the O/S/R fog needs to be illuminated in the UK.
