  1. I'll look into that, No warranty work under our ownership, cant speak for previous owners. Looking into the cooling system layout, I can only find a couple of areas that could cause an "internal leak" that we couldn't see evidence of those being the EGR Cooler and the Charge Cooler, I'm going to look to get them pressure tested soon.
  2. Hey all, My fiance drives a 2015 1.4tdi, and it's recently been losing coolant, gone over everything i can see in the bay hoses, rad, checked for emulsification, replaced the header tank cap, put UV dye into the tank and refilled with g13, and gone over the entire bay with a uv lamp, nothing anywhere to be found. Are the 1.4's common for EGR Coolers or anything? Car's only on 50k ish so id be surpried but i can't find any external evidence of a leak.
  3. Sorry to raise an old thread, but thought a simple question rather than a new thread, I have just fitted MFSW to my 2014 octavia and nothing is working, My gateway is an MQBLow 5Q0907530D, Does this need to be a Mid or High to work?
  4. @pab567 might you have any updates for Bolero, Fabia 2015. MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0137T 5Q0035820. Would love to get Smartlink enabled or is the unit incapable? Thanks
  5. AJ, Did DMA need anything other than the activation software? like using ODIS Diagnostic to complete the install, or is it just those two parts?
  6. Got a vibration at speed, feels more rear end as the centre console/Jumbobox wobbles side to side quite violently. Had full hunter geo done, had tyres/wheels balanced, tried other wheels, no apparent play in bearings on any corner... Worn shocks? disks? Hubs? 🤷‍♂️ I'm stumped. Mk2 tfsi PFL for reference.
  7. T20b being the large 20wy black connector K10 the Heated screen lamp E230 the switch Identical pinout from my 08PFL and a 2010FL...
  8. I've been chasing a similar issue, albeit cylinder 4. Looks like mine is down to failing injectors, replaced cyl4 injector and the miss has gone, now starting to develop one on cyl3 😒 Next plan is to have a set rebuilt and cleaned, then replace the lot. My understanding is that the plastic baskets inside degrade and break up causing blockages.
  9. Hey all, Done the FL panel retrofit in my PFL, following the guide on here. All is fine but I've lost the function of my heated rear screen? Anyone had similar behaviour? Looking at the wiring between the PFL and FL the wires are in the same place 🤔
  10. given some minor damage to my 2008 VRS (scratches, dents etc) I've potentially the opportunity for a full set of front closure panels from a FL mk2, same colour as mine, but had taken rear end damage. Is it simply a case of bolt-on parts (Wings, bumper, bonnet), and the FL Headlamps (maybe some wiring mods)? Or is there more underlying structure to change?
  11. Hey guys, tonight I lost drive in my 08 tfsi vrs. Engine fine, clutch and gearbox seem fine but neither of the output 'cups' are turning. Just a horrible grinding noise. Is there anything common to look at or am I looking at replacing the box? Seems to have really become an issue after making a tight right turn then started pulling to the left and really not liking right turns (felt like the car wanted to keep going forward). Open to input at this point. Or a source for a cheap second hand box?
  12. @Skodaniel If you're happy with a TFSI over a TDI, there was a tidy 06 plate one on AutoTrader. 2.0tfsi, manual, same colour. I looked at it before i bought my 08 vrs hatch, somewhat kicking myself now lol, oh well, hindsight.
  13. glad to be of help. yeah the newer cars don't have a switched feed, and the old useful feed from the cig lighter, now seems to be permanent 12v.
  14. there is no ignition feed on the multilok connector as the stereo is triggered by the CAN-Bus network on a 1Z, so would have to supply a new one from the fuse box. Fuse taps are invaluable for this purpose. Sony normally supply a DIN to ISO adaptor for the antenna, though you dont say what stereo you currently have fitted. If its the Skoda Stream MP3 unit, you will require an "amplified" FAKRA to ISO for the antenna. something like the image below, the blue wire goes to either 12v ignition or the blue line from the new stereo (power antenna): I would also suggest cutting or removing the blue wire from the harness adaptor on the car side as this can sometimes put 12v onto the k-line diagnostics wire, depending on the pinout of the multilok connector.
  15. Ok, so... Just got my new tfsi, and already done a couple of bits of preventative work. Cam follower and DV. Overall, I love it... However: I noticed a distinct rattle at idle, that goes away when you dip the clutch. I'm thinking release bearing or DMF :( your thoughts please, which is most likely? Secondly, at or near full lock there seems to be some noticeable "give" in the steering. Almost as though a bush has given out, but i can find no obvious evidence of such things, any ideas where to look deeper? Anything else you think might be worthy of attention/checking? As shes on 140k, and no doubt not in her finest fettle. Thanks all.
