Monte sill covers on vRS?

Featured Replies

My vRS is white with black roof and wheels but the sills are IMO the ugliest parts of the car, just having the standard stonechip finish painted white.

I think it would look better if the black theme was extended to the sills.

I've considered masking along the stonechip coating line and painting with a suitable black paint but have not done this because I think paint adhesion would be a problem and the black paint would would soon get damaged ... with white patches then showing it would look a real mess.

So what about fitting the black Monte covers?....just the bits over the sills, not bothered about the rest of the bodykit.

.Anyone know of any problem with this idea?...and cost of the parts?

Apologies for my previous reply in your thread, totally misunderstood and thought you meant the door sills and not the actual sills haha!

I had an idea but very unsure of the longevity of application. But maybe try plasti-dip sprayed along the stonechip finish to give either a matte or gloss black finish, which when looking a bit tatty, just peel off and re-apply?

As above was going to suggest plasti dip

Ask at your local Skoda dealer parts department about the Monte plastic sill trims - I always find my parts guy very willing to help and price is usually reasonable. I think you'll need to get the complete set with wheel arch trims...

I didn't really want to go beyond the sill trims...as you say I'll look into it with the parts people but I suspect that the whole of the Monte kit interlocks together so just trying to fit bits of it will leave rough, unclosed ends that look bad.
