Octy door lock

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i was looking for some advice. I have a 2000 Octavia 1.9 TDI SLX 130 that i bought as a run around. It's developed a fault with the central locking. It no longer works with the remote control & only works sometimes with the key in the door lock. It always works when i use the boot lock to unlock/lock the car but sometimes when i use the door lock it's only the drivers door that locks/unlocks. All doors lock when i use the button on the armrest, all windows work, both mirrors work & de-mist. I know from reading the various posts that there are problems with the central locking on the Octavia but a lot of what iv'e read seems to be related to total failure of the locking system, mine is more of an intermittent fault. Sorry it's such a long winded post, any help resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.

First place I would start looking at is the drivers door wirng loom for breaks & also corrosion/broken pins in the large connector .

Thanks Pauldazzle, i'll strip the door card off & have a look.

Check where the wiring loom enters the door from the A pillar too.
