Don't bother with the vag sealant, it's about £40 - £50 a tube iirc.

 

Just get some Dirko sealant from GSF / Halfords.

You will also need a LONG ball ended 6mm (i think) allen key for a few bolts,can't remember which end of the sump!

Bell housing end.

Rags/paper towels, its a real messy job.

I thought it was 5mm. Can't remember, I just bought a set of ball ended Allen keys.

My feeble brain doesn't hold on to info like that....5mm or 6mm??

What I do know is I have the required Allen key that fits...;-)

It's a doddle of a job....just clean the face of the sump properly before you put it back on!

You could even get it dipped and powder coated bright red?

I think he was referring to the oil pickup.

 

With regular oil changes and less than 17K it hardly seems worth it.

BUT, it would be interesting to see the state of it.
