My vrs aint got a 6 speed box i was thinking of putting 1 on as i do alot of motorway miles would the leon cupra 6 speed box fit? If not what one will

And it's a bitch to fit

I thought somewhere I have been told that a 6 speed box off of a S3 wll work also....Others can post too.....

I've owned both 5 & 6 speed VAG 1.8t's both were around 3500 rpm @ 70 mph in top gear.

Hmm, so no real gain upgrading to 6 speed?  Why do they fit 6 speeds then, just a gimmick to sell the cars?

Most 1.8ts with 6 speed, have K04 turbo, so extra ratios aid in spool up/reduce lag.

Are you saying the inboard cv joints off the 5 speeds can't be used?

Just I've got to replace one soon,and mine has a 6 speed fitted.

Mine runs 2800rpm at 70mph!

Taller fears though of course......

It's good on fuel too,I can get 43mpg from it ;-)
