Adaptation/Coding Help.

Featured Replies

I am having a few issues on the Golf with ESP messing about and not allowing me to corner at any speed over 20 mph, switch ESP off and car turns in and corners at most speeds.

I am also removing the seats to replace with bucket seats, this in itself is throwing an air bag light on as the seats are removed, I guess this will also be the case when the steering wheel is replaced.

So, with the above in mind here are my questions.

1, Is it possible to de activate or code out ESP?

2, Is it possible to de activate air bags without the need for resistors?

3, Can the airbag controller be removed as well as the airbags so as there is nothing that would need coding out?

 Thanks for your assistance.

I might have found what I am looking for, apparently this adaptation disables ESP/ASR but leaves the ABS in tact to work as normal.

Disabling ESP on R32 MK60 via VCDS coding

The ESP bit in the ECU controller 03 (ABS) is:
Soft
Code
ESP Bit
V
Original: 23049 = 101101000001001 ABS/ESP/EDL
-2048 = 100000000000 (ESP Bit)
New: 21001 = 101001000001001 ABS/EDL (no more ESP)

To perform it:
VCDS -> Coding -> 07 Login 40168
Coding 11 -> Enter 21001 in place of 23049 and "Do it" button

Finally got to try out my ESP delete via coding yesterday on track at Oulton Park.

I have to say it is gone, no sign of it trying to nanny the progress, even to the point the car drifted quite happily on a few corners.

Progress, I like a good result.
