Poor sound mdi and aux

Featured Replies

To the sound/ice gurus amongst you: do you have any ideas why the music sound quality through my mdi or aux lead to my Columbus is poor when connected to an iphone please? It actually sounds a bit bass heavy, depending on the song, although I haven't fiddled with the bass settings.

Streaming is fine as is the cd, hdd, radio etc and also the sound of my digital radio through the aux is fine. If it wasn't for the latter I'd suspect an mdi box issue.

The fact that the sound comes through at all, albeit bass heavy, makes me think there is a possible interference or maybe a loose connection issue? Would that make sense?

I don't think its the pin switch issue which I did on my dad's car after an audio upgrade as the Columbus is a factory fit in this car.

Thanks

Adam

First thing to check is if you have any equalisation on the phone/mp3 player you are using for the source... Any increase in bass or loudness switched on usually distorts/clips the sound.
