Featured Replies

Cd player working fine.. went and wired up my sub never changed anything.. go to turn everything on and bam nothing. No power to anything. Checked fuse on power wire, cd player, sub and in the fuse box by the drivers door. Really puzzled any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Do you have lives and earths to the plugs on the back of the headunit?

Yeah

If you have all the lives and earths where you should at the back of the unit then the issue is with the headunit.

What have you connected the remote lead from the amp too on the back of the head unit?

As i say it was fine before i plugged my sub in.. iv tried my other cd player too and still nothing. My ground wire and remote wire may have touched when i was putting the sub in.. is there another fuse box at all?

Iv connected it to the ignition live.. its the exact same set up as i had before and it worked fine thats why im puzzled

If you have tried another headunit and still nothing then you dont have all your lives and earths at the back of the headunit.

I do.. i havent changed anything apart from screwing 3 wires into a sub. It worked fine before i done this

Also when i turn my lights on the cd player lights up..

What happens if you take out the amp wiring?

The headunit is a consumer, it requires power(s) and earth its that simple. If the consumer is deemed ok by substitue then the only other possible cause is something is missing to power that consumer.

Is everything else working? CDL? Does the interior light come on when you take the keys out of the ignition?

  • Author

Acutally good point i noticed that.. the interior light doesnt come.on when i remove the keys. Only when i open the door. Iv removed the amp wiring but still nothing.

  • Author

Only when i remove the keys***

The interior light doesnt come on when i remove the keys.. only when i open the door

Made that a bit confusing lol

Its sounds like you have popped the S contact fuse then, so you are missing effectivly the ignition live.

So where is that fuse buddy?

Number 10 in the fuse box on the end of the dash.
