Featured Replies

well decided to swallow the cost and treat myself to an early xmas prezzie and bought a vcds kit from marshalls..  £265 delivered.. arrived this morning so i though here goes lets see if i can break me car...!!!

first off i did the glow plug mod.. worked a treat and now my glow plugs stay on about 6 seconds.. perfect as im running 100% biodiesel...

secondly the timing as my car has never started on the first turn of the key and i suspected as the last owner did the belt himself they never timed it up correctly..

went into the timing mode and sure enough it was off the chart and really retarded  SO after 8 attempts to get it as close as i could on my last go i hit the blue line bang on....lol... so im looking forward to her starting better now,

all in all a good day and can recommend  Marshall's Industrial Ltd., after having a long chat on the phone with them im very happy with there service, and will say im glad i didnt get tempted with a cheepo copy job  :)

That's all good news and sounds like its alread paid for itself!

How do you do the glow plug mod? I've not heard of that one.

Might be worth documenting the timing one as well if you can because I don't think I've seen that on here either.

The op has an injection pump diesel not a PD. You check the timing completely differently to a PD. I think the glow plug is also only relevant to the older diesels too.
