Hi Im back with a question as most folk don't know the answers on the superb section.

I'm getting 500K hids fitted to the dipped beam and would like to know what bulbs to fit to the high beam ones to match.

I had to get a new turbo for my 1.9 tdi superb yesterday, so ordered from Gap turbos, fully fitted with new gaskets and oil and filter change for £425, so no more police siren, and hopefully won't drink 3 litres of oil between services any more

Don't bother; you will never get a match with Halogens due to the very different nature of the bulb construction. Just buy the best H1s you can such as Nightbreaker unlimited +110% or Philips Extreme Vision. 

 

I had Nightbreaker+ in my previous Octavia and whilst not a match colour wise gave a great long beam to work with.

Halfords Extreme Brilliance H1bulbs. Not cheap, but usually an offer on at Halfords where it's buy one get one free.

 

Didn't know you had the turbo go on your Superb? Surprising as it's a 1.9. It's not exactly done a lot of miles either,has it? Around 60K?

Your correct on the mileage Mike, It just started using oil had it serviced at 50K and at 53K the low oil light came on so checked the level and it was just wetting the bottom of the stick, so topped it up to the top mark, and kept an eye on it over the next 7 K put another 2 litres in Meck thinks the turbo seals had gone and it was getting burnt off,

Turbo was making the police siren noise even when going slow, when he checked it after removing it, it had some slight play but it has to go back to the company, so he did not open it up.

It was £300 all in for the turbo with gasket set
