Best up rated clutch?

Featured Replies

So I have a hybrid to go on my car and will get her mapped shortly after with less torque obviously, but I will be up rating the clutch soon as it's coming up to 120k on standard so I think it's wise to, was just wondering what's the best uprated clutch for around the late £300 mark? Don't really wanna spend much over £400 if I can help it, kinda looking for 200/220bhp and over the 300mark of torque? Links would be appreciated :)

That a lot of money for some people tho what torque can it handle? And what else have you had done?

There isn't an updated clutch that will handle a lot of torque for that price matey your talking £600+ I'm afraid

Hmm I think I'll have to save some more lol

have you got the paddle disc in yours ?

I have the more expensive one - "sintered?"

And its had no trouble handling 300bhp.

Thats a lot of money to most people but modifying cars sadly isnt a cheap hobby. You cant have cheap and good, £300 isnt much more than a standard clutch. For what it's worth I'd go for a helix clutch, it's still not £300 though. My 2p is either do the job well or just enjoy the car as it.

How much is a helix? And what do I need a single or dual mass?

Awesome GTI quoted me £900 for a helix clutch and SMF kit.

:D It gets us all!

Please only buy a decent clutch

The only ones worth their salt are helix or sachs!

I wouldnt entertain anything else!

Will cost you a grand plus all in! But will make its money back instead of replacing loads of cheaper 'performance' clutchs when they break!

Buy ****e but twice

Me too! I actually was going to make a big purchase from Darkside until I saw the VAT and delivery haha

I bought a £400 kevlar clutch "400 lb/ft" cooked it with only 220bhp....

Then bought a £600 "560 lb./ft" clutch from the states.  Buggered up the flywheel fairly quickly, and the clutch itself was falling to bits.....

So that's £1k + labour for 2 clutch swaps wasted.  :(
