Data off an dead iPhone 4s?

Featured Replies

One of my colleagues has managed to kill his iPhone 4s by taking it up Snowdon in the rain. :( I stripped it down to investigate and unfortunately the motherboard is severely corroded. It will enter DFU mode however.

My question is can data be recovered with this mode and has anyone achieved it?

I have tried a few tools to try and get his data back - Wondershare Dr Fone and Msftguy without any success. They detect the phone in DFU mode but won't go any further. Both versions I tried of Dr Fone said they didn't support the iPhone 4s and so did the Msftguy.

I just wondered if anyone had any ideas before I admit defeat.

Thanks in advance,

Bumpety bump - can anyone help?

I would have thought most important stuff would have be backed up to cloud storage if set up so is easily recoverable o a different handset. Other than that it's beyond my knowledge

As above. The phone would normally back up data to i cloud which can be sent to a new phone. That's what happened when my I phone broke.

You could also contact a Apple Genius Bar for expert advise.

Thank you both. The most unfortunate thing about this is he didn't back it up to a PC! :wall:

As mentioned I have tried a few things now with little success, so I think I will have to admit defeat.
