Just about to sign the paperwork for my VRS Hatch

Featured Replies

I'm just about to order mine through a main dealer via Lings Car's ( www.lingscars.com , great company, used them for my last car  ) on a 2 year contract hire (I'm not a business user)

Spec:

Hatch VRS Diesel Manual

Candy White

Canton sound

VRS leather

Heated front seats

Standard cruise control

Colour multi dot trip computer

Heated washer nozzles

Heated Windscreen

Sunset glass

Black design pack

15,000 miles per year, road tax included each year.

Initial payment of £1,105 followed by 23 payments of £368 inc VAT.

Finance is with VW Finance through a main dealer.

What's the thoughts on that deal?    I thought it was pretty good, way better than Arnold Clark quoted me!

Doesn't sound bad for a 2 year deal with higher than "average" mileage?

Have you priced up doing a PCP over 3 years, and then just giving it back after 2?

Might work out cheaper, not sure, the maths side of my brain is taking a break today :)

Interesting that they allowed you to spec up a heated windscreen, I bought a Petrol vRS last week and they told me I couldn't have that option. Bizarre that the Diesel is different.

Heated windscreen is fine on the diesel, but sort of a no-no for the petrol due to it's smaller alternator. Some petrols have slipped through the net with heated windscreens attached, but apparently none will from now on.

Can't understand why pcp is so popular in the uk. In Ireland it doesn't add up!

Me:

1 Car price £24185

2 Deposit £5000

3 42 x payments of £199

4 Final payment in 2017 of £11k

Human nature only sees 2 & 3.

4 only starts to concern most people about 6 months before it's due to happen.

After all, for a piddly deposit and very manageable monthly payments. I can ponce around in a top of the range motor.

Funny the alternator is not a problem in Norway, here we can get heated windscreen on the 1.8 tsi and the vrs tsi :)

So lets say it together.. SUK strikes again.. :P

I never bothered with the PCP thing until ordering my VRS. The 0% APR offer makes it very worthwhile for me, especially as I do not tend to keep cars too long. I would not have chosen PCP otherwise.
