lowering springs for Monte Carlo estate

Featured Replies

Hi,

I see alot of people have bought lowering springs, through skoda as a genuine part to maintain warranty etc, for the monte carlo hatch. But do they do a set for the estate? Or are they the same?

If so, what sort of price are they including fitting?

Thanks in advance!

estate is different, make sure you specify (I have the eibachs for my vRS estate, ordered when I ordered the car new) as the rear springs are a differen spring rate to the hatch!

Brilliant, tanks for the advice! how much were the springs when you had them added at factory? i never saw that option when i spec'd my car, do they not mention it unless you ask?

They are not added at the factory, they are changed at the Dealership before delivery.

Ok thanks, i may enquire on monday, ill be looking for a deal on them from the dealership after the hassle i have had with my car so far.

Just think it will make the car so much better, it defo needs to sit lower around the wheel arch, far o big a gap ATM.

Will it affect my insurance? do i tell them about it as a Mod?

i ordered them when I ordered my new car, and they were on my "new car order" but as George says they are a dealer fit option, approved by skoda on their parts list, and as such included in the 3 year warrenty, and as such my insurance company said "no increase, we dont need to know about skoda approved options..." my RARB was a 15% increase however! ... not much thouigh for the benifit it gives!

and yes glen, helps the hanfling, and looks much better :)

You could call yourself nightrider in that, the all black looks awsome! A right ass to keep clean i bet!

So if i got them put on my car now, they would still come under the 3 year warranty?

And just a courtesy call to insurance?

As for cost...how much were they fitted?

cant remember what they were fitted, it was just added to the finance, so was kinda negligable.....

it IS a bitch to keep clean, I will occasionally clean the alloys and suddenly realise they ARE black magic, and not grey! lol....

if you get them after new car delivery, i believe they only have a one year warrenty.......

as for insurance they all have different approaches... some people get brake upgrades for free some get RARB for free (mine was 15% increase) if done after sales, the eibachs may be considered an "aftermarket" mod, so may attract a premium! doubt it would be much though.....

he's called "phantom" by the way ;) there is a thread in the projects section ;)
