I have a mk1 Octavia VRS with a blowing sound from cold, like an exhaust blow, once warm the noise go's, I presume this must be something to do with the auxiliary air valve, however I can't find where the leak is, the pipes from the pump seem ok, I was looking at the end of the smaller pipe, looks like a pierburg valve on the transmission end of the head, problem is the noise seems to travel and it is hard to locate,,,,

Any normal issues?

So that's what that annoying sound is! I thought it was just the car getting old :P

Poor design really.

I've had the SAI housing rivets fail on 3 different VAG 1.8T's.
