HDD Status

Featured Replies

Hi

If I go into the 'hidden' setup on my Columbus under the HDD it has a status of 'degraded' - what does this mean and do I need to be worried?

Mines the same, I've done some searching and it appear common on VW sites. I've not found any answers yet.

I'm a little concerned as last week it kept rebooting, I sorted it with a firmware upgrade and then installed new maps, one plus i can now access hidden menus and now have full postcode.

It's a 2009 model and ex fleet so I'll have to wait and see.

I updated to firmware 4024 and v9 maps a few weeks before but at the time it rebooted I had been using nav and playing music from HDD for about 9 hours!! What a journey!! So I did wonder if it had just overheated. Next time I do a drive like that I will play the music from SD card to reduce the load on the HDD.

Is it like fragmented?

How can I tell?

Mines been like that since I've had it irrespective of usage / heat. I'm pretty sure it said it when the HD had nothing on it.
