Hey all,

 

I have a 59-plate 1.4tsi Octavia with 45k, so am looking at getting it serviced. Most likely a major service. Also I presume the 1.4tsi is cambelt driven? If it is I assume I probably need to get this changed too? Any idea of rough costs?

I believe its a chain not a belt.

Yeah it's a chain :-) so just got a Major service booked in including plugs etc.... For £175, didn't seem to unreasonable.

If it's the 122 horse power model I believe it's belt. But it's 120k intervals on it anyway.

cool, only my dad's 140 tsi and mother in law 122tsi both had letters from the vw garage saying that the belt was due for replacement. I knew my dad's was chain but never knew the outcome of the 122tsi
