Oops front end bump!

Featured Replies

Had a little bump the other day meaning my front bumper and bonnet are a little worse for wear!

It was only a 5mph dink would you think the bumper reinforcement would need replacing as well??? Was thinking about just doing it myself.

Also keeping my options open a FL bumper is it much to mod it into place on a pre FL???

And my understanding is the bonnet is the same?? :)

Bonnet is the same but the grille isn't. It's a big job modding a FL bumper onto a pre FL. you'll need new wings as well also headlights and modified wiring. I looked into this a while ago and seriously not worth it and very expensive.

Sorry to hear of your bump. Hope you sort it :)

You could modify the front bumper but there's a lot of cutting and filling to the sides of it so it lines up with the pre FL wings. Just not worth it.

The cost for the bumper with all accessories and paintings will be around 1000 €. Trust me, been there done that. Only part that i was able to locate second handed, was the bumper shell... Rest of the parts i had to buy from the dealer.

So... did some comparison and the modification would need to be around the "Flick" near to the lights.

I'm thinking that if i can pick up a cheap FL front under £40 shell i might have a look :)

I can get a complete FL front bumper for £350 :)

£350 is not bad if it truly includes all the parts. Bumper, grills, DRL's, fog lights, headlight washers, plastic supports inside the bumper that the DRL's and foglights are attached to. You then also have to built the wiring for the DRL's. And on top of that, you need new grill and it's surroundings to the bonnet. Pre-FL grill would look silly with FL bumper...

Result is something like this:
