New Car Prep Done

Featured Replies

Just finished doing some new car prep on my parents new Elegance. They picked it up just under 2 weeks ago from Rainsworth Skoda (via car file). Great service from the dealer from start to finished.

Have to say quite impressed with the car overall. Felt much better than the non elegance I saw in a few showrooms.

The dealer prep was quite good too. The most surprising thing was the good condition of the paintwork. After a good clean the clay bar picked up virtually no contaminants. I guess part of this will be down to good transport plastics and also the fact that the fact has not been sitting around like many other new cars (THink its been 1 month at most since build day).

Paintwork now all protected with Gtechniq EXOv2. Was quite impressed with how easy it was to apply and buff, found it easier than the old C1 I used on my car. Also the fact it could be used on all surfaces - plastics, paintwork, glass and wheels made life a lot easier.

Would have liked to spend another few hours on it but only so much time I can get away with when there are two noisy boys inside

Tried to get some pictures but my parents garage is full of cr*p and it started to rain just as I had finished so the car was left in the dry to cure.

No pics = it hasn't happened!!

Seriously, post some pics! Cheers.

Luckily the rain held off this morning for a couple minutes before it went on a taxi drive to the airport so managed to get these two

Looks great, mine now over 4 months old and only just getting ready for claying, mine was so well prepped that I decided the benefit of stripping all the dealers efforts would be a waste so postponed any major detailing, but will give it a good fettle before the winter sets in!

Having now looked at the pics I think blury would be the best comment. Doh. I have a feeling it will be a bit dirty when it returns later for some decent pictures. That said a quick pressure wash should clean it off a treat
