4x4 lowering springs? What drop

Featured Replies

Hi I got a octy 4 x 4 1.8t I've just got some rs4 18" on and the car looks like a off-roader it's that high, 4x4 models are set higher than standard models, but my question is what size drop should I go for? I don't want it that low it's gonna scrape! Maybe a little lower than vrs oem? Also can I use springs from s3/tt quattro golf 4motion? Thanks

Just below vrs is good comprise between space for articulation and stance

vrs height is good for still being able to get down country tracks and unmetalled roads

How much drop would I need from 4x4 standard height to achieve vrs standard? Also will I need shorter drop links? Thanks

You will also need adjustable rear control arms as when u lower the vag haldex 4x4 platform you will start to scrub you rear inside tyres and can some times snap the OEM control arms.

The Mk4 Golf R32 running gear I believe is a straight swap

Guessing the 4x4 is roughly 20-30mm higher than the vrs ?

Been a while since I've seen a stock 4x4 tbh

No need to change drop links

I've had a set of these on my car for many yrs now: Forge rear tie bar control arms
