Strange noise from 1.8T

Featured Replies

10w40 would be a bit extreme. I'm using a very cheap 10w40 semi to run my S3 back in after a full rebuild and that's only in there for 500miles to aid in seating of the new rings.

Then it's back to my Fuchs 5w40 thereafter.

UPDATE!

Got out my stethoscope and had a fondle about!

Noise is around the timing tensioner, most audible near the little roller on the bottom of the tensioner!

Guess id take it back to the garage that did the timing but i reckon they wont touch it now its been a 2months or so.
